Getting back to work after a relaxing holiday requires a lot of mental strength - mainly focus. Focus is like a muscle, it must be trained regularly to build its strength. (Read more about this in our previous blog post here.)
One simple way you can improve your focus when working is to make sure your phone is out of sight. A scary and lesser-known fact is that having your phone in your field of vision has been proven to temporarily lower your IQ! Put it away!
Body: Core Strength
Having a strong core becomes increasingly important as many of us find ourselves sat at desks all day and then training as hard as we can in the little ‘down-time’ we get. Core workouts should be incorporated at least once within your weekly workout schedule. Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work together as one unit. These strengthening exercises lead to better balance and stability, whether sat at work or playing sport, in fact most physical activities rely on a strong core - so fit that workout in whenever you can!

Snack of the week - Brazil nuts.
Brazil nuts are great for your heart, helping to regulate blood pressure by providing you with calcium, magnesium and potassium and not too much sodium (as long as they are unsalted of course!) The fibre in Brazil nuts can also help lower your cholesterol!
As autumn closes in some of us may need a little more motivation than usual to crawl out of the warm duvet and jump into the cold, wet and windy day.
